3 Babies

My three babies...

Growing a little slow, but getting there!
Just got done with the musical yesterday. Was a super awesome experience! :) Had loads of fun and new friends. Gonna miss everyone in the production. Now I'm just keeping myself busy until I go rock climbing in 5 days! Sooo excited!!

I'm secretly surprised at how my family is reacting to me going rock climbing alone (well, with instructors really, but going there alone). My mom let me. My grandma kinda didn't care about it. My grandpa just told me to be careful with the rain. And when I told him they'll have ropes and stuff, he's just like "oh, okay." Hahaha!

It's totally a blessing. Never knew it would be this easy. You never know what's gonna happen until you try right? :)

Went looking for the Thai Ridgeback today at the open air market. The boy said she's sold. But I don't believe him. Will go check again tomorrow because the owner wasn't there today.

Then four days after I get back from Chiang Mai my cousin, A, is coming back from Shanghai. He's gonna take me shooting! Yay!!! Maybe I'll move my flight to Monday June 25 instead so we can go shooting 23 and 24.

Other than that I'm also super stoked about getting back to the States. Mainly because I'll be back in the 'bu and I'll be taking pole dancing. :))) Still gotta sign up for that. The schedule for June is not up yet.

Good summer so far, and looking good in the future too! :3

Failed Second 3 Mile

Saw the rain cloud, but went jogging anyway. Prayed to at least finish one round first. Rain started falling and I started running. Heard thunder rumbling and I sprinted the hell back!

Okay, first of all, it already rained before I started my run. So I thought maybe it won't rain again. And I really wanted to do another 3 mile run because I've just been doing 1.5 mile after my first 3 mile run. I saw the sky getting dark and I quickened my pace, whispering under my breath for it to wait until after I finish this first round.

Halfway through the golf course (second half of the round), I felt big droplets on my arms and face. And you know how sometimes you can see heavy rain coming your way like it's being poured in a certain direction? That's exactly what I saw in front of me. Heavy rain was running towards me and I was running towards it. It was amazing actually :) I could barely see.

I was soaked, and I love getting soaked. I contemplated running the second round since I was already dripping. I just had to leave my phone at the front of house by the guard house (I had my phone in case of emergency and to time myself). I hid it under my shirt, although my shirt was pretty much wet too.

Then along came thunder. And I was like SHIIIIT!!! I was on the road and it was starting to form puddles. There were trees around and I knew I shouldn't go under them. Plus, they don't provide any coverage anyway. I couldn't stay still because my phone was getting wetter by the second. So yes, I sprinted for my life! Hahaha!

I guess you should be careful what you wish for. I only recently put in my bucket list that I want to run around and dance in the rain with someone I love. I definitely got to run around in the rain. But God, I think you missed the dancing and the someone I love part. Lol! Although I don't really mind getting those two missing parts later. ;)p

It was actually the funnest run I've ever had :) I'd love to do it again minus the thunder and a waterproof watch instead of my phone. Running in the rain is fun! Probably not so much in the States because the rain and weather is cold. It's perfect here because it's warm. Feels almost like taking a nice warm shower.

My time was better by a minute though. Woot!! And I got to watch the little runt of an Australian Cattle Dog playing with the rain and water in the front of the house. She's the cutest. She was jumping up and around to catch the water. Hahaha!

By the way, isn't it ironic that I was wearing my swim team shirt from middle school? "Panthers Swim Team" Well, this panther is soaked alright. Gosh, my school's mascot is definitely way cooler than my university's. I'd rather be a panther than a wave. But I'm both, so what gives. :)

Sprouting!!!

Hah!! The unknown seed has germinated! Here are the pictures:

I planted four, only one sprouted so far.
I saw that another one has taken root though, so the others are probably just slower :)

Here's a close up!
So cute!
If you notice that the edge of my pictures are a bit foggy, I wasn't trying to be artistic or anything. My camera went from a cold room to the hot air outside, so the lens fogged up, hahaha! The pictures came out nice though. ;p

And here's Little Cow with what looks like an orange lipstick :)

"I love my carrot!!"
It's funny, she's supposed to be my mom's but she always greet me when I see her. You know, put her head up and makes this cute little squeak. And apparently she doesn't really greet my mom. Hahaha! Whenever I get back from outside I always take her out to play and run around. She has a really round belly too!

Then when I went to Jatujak, the open air market, yesterday with my mom, I saw this puppy and I was instantly drawn to it. Believe me, we walked past many shops selling puppies and nothing happened until I passed this one. It was like instantly I knew it was the one.

She's a Thai Ridgeback with the most beautiful gray coat. One and a half month old. The most captivating grayish blue eyes. I don't know, something just clicked when I saw her. My mom wouldn't let me buy her though. Said I won't be here for much longer. I would take her to the States with me if I can! If I get to bring her I might actually just not live in the dorms. Hahaha! She feels that special.

Then my mom said if after two days she's still there she'll get the puppy for me. LOL! I think she was joking though. Nevertheless, it would be an awesome dog to have! We already have one male here, but he's gotten a little fat and lazy. He's supposedly the alpha male of the house because he's the biggest. We'll see what happens. :)

First Weekend Performance

Yayy!!! Successfully played the first four shows of the musical. :) It has been tiring and fun. There are a couple times when I messed up even though I'm really only in two scenes. Hahaha! But the show must go on! People told me they didn't notice so I guess I played it out well ;p

Living through the three days of spending time in the back room is like a makeup festival. The ensemble crew are constantly changing and adjusting their makeup. TONS of makeup. My face feels so thick and heavy by the end of the show. I don't think I'll ever put on more makeup than this anywhere. And today when I thought I did okay, my mom told me my grandma said "why didn't she put on makeup?"

I guess you really do need to resemble a clown on stage, lol!

Oh, and a chihuahua is actually a star too. :) She's one of the actress' dogs. The dog's name is Isabella. She always come with her sister, Wasabi.

Wasabi and Isabella gettin' some lovin' from everyone :3
On Saturday when we had two shows, I took a nap before the last finale. My brain wasn't really working at that point. And it's funny how I know a lot of the dialogues and all the songs they sing on stage. Repetition really does work.

In the musical, I play in a school scene as one of the students and in a beach scene as one of the people going for vacation.

It feels like an accumulation of tiredness because right now I'm literally just spacing out (as you can tell from this poorly transitioned entry). The whole crew have been practicing everyday since a week before the first performance on Friday.

And I found a quote/poem someone gave to me a long time ago that I want to share. I didn't understand it then, but I understand it now. It's from a collection of thoughts by the philosopher Khalil Gibran called "The Prophet." This is an excerpt from his thoughts on the subject of love:

When love beckons to you, follow him,
though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you.
Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.
But if in your fear you would seek only
love's peace and love's pleasure,
then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing floor,
Into the seasonless world where you
shall laugh, but not all of your laughter,
and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself,
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed:
For love is sufficient unto love.
And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

Now, I go to sleep. Just like Little Cow.....

Good night, world! :)

Planted :3

I definitely need to go out and run. Didn't run these past two days because I've been getting back at 1am every night from practice. Then I'm afraid I'll be too tired at practice if I run. But screw it. The musical starts this Friday. And I for sure won't be running on those days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). So I decided to run on the practice days. Hopefully I don't get up too late although I do need enough sleep as well. Oh, the dilemma in my life. :)

Anyway, most people don't know this but I love growing things as well. I just don't have the space in the States. I acquired some unknown seeds from my yard a couple days ago, and I decided to plant them today because I didn't go out during the day. Just something productive to do. Hehehe.

It's one of those fluffy, light, floating in the wind kind of seed.
I'm sure it's some kind of big tree.

The fluffy part is really soft and silky :3
And yes, I got four seeds.
The seeds were cracking a bit when I put them in the soil. Hopefully they'll still grow. Most seeds I get outside (aka naturally fell from trees) will sprout. So far the statistic's around 99% positive (I don't really know the real percentage, but I don't remember having to throw out any unsuccessful pot before).

The four seeds planted and waiting to grow with nurture from the sun and my love ;)
I also decided to plant something that's been in a pot on my small balcony for a while. I planted the same kind years back and it has grown big and beautiful.

The potted plant that I'm going to be planting in the yard.

The plant's predecessor that has grown big.

And here's the difference in size :)
They're not really a flowering plant or fruit tree either. The person that sold the first one to me said it's supposed to help grow wealth in your house. Asian superstitions. I just like the way that it looks.

Planted!

Next to his big brother.
And here are other shenanigans around the house while I was out in the garden/yard...

Dragon fruit plant (the kind that has a purple inside)

Dragon fruit in the making!! Yummm :)
By the way, the dragon fruit plant has the most beautiful flower I've ever seen. Oddly enough, it only blooms in the early morning and withers by the end of dawn. I only got to see them when I was in high school because we always leave the house by 6am.

These flowers have really sweet nectar.
I used to love sucking the nectar when I was younger.
My hermit crab, Spongebob, also loves to eat these :3

These girls usually come around after I run.
The sweetest face ever!

The fatty :)
Oh! And I almost forgot. My mom got a prairie dog. She's the cutest thing when she calls out and kinda jumps up and stand on her hind legs. Hahaha! But I only have pictures of her sleeping in her soft blankets. :))) My mom gave me the privilege to name it, so I called her Wua Noi which literally means "little cow." She eats a lot of grass and has a round belly. So why not? I mean, it's a cute name, right? ;p

Cozy in her blanket!

Look at that precious face :3

"I like to sleep after I eat my grass!"
Ahhh!! First musical performance is tomorrow night! I hope everything goes smoothly. Gotta get there at 3pm to get ready for the show which starts at 7:30pm. It's gonna be a loooong day. But I'll make it!

Time Creeps

I've been running and doing the same old routine. It's just that now I have to run in the morning because I have practice for the musical in the late afternoon/evening. It's supposed to get intense next week, but it's already pretty hard. On paper, they schedule practice to be only an hour long. It always end up being a couple hours more. Especially last night when I was learning the dance and steps for my part. I was literally out of energy :S

More practice today as well. From 4-5 should be voice practice. Then 6-7 should be dance practice where I'll be practicing with the people in the same scene as me (I was learning it alone last night). I doubt it will end at 7 though. Probably will drag on till at least 8. Meh. I kinda want to just fast forward time and skip to the performance. Hahaha!

Anyway, so I went out of town to see my grandpa the other day. I got pictures of his dogs too! They're so cute :3

The trio of brothers and sister.

That's my grandma giving them chicken.
And that's the dog begging for more lol

This one's still a puppy!

"Please give me fooood."

A moth I found on the bar hanging bananas.

He's such a sweetheart :)

The sister is happy :D
I can't believe it's only been barely two weeks that I've been here. Time is going so slowly it feels like forever. Old people always say they want time to slow down, but I don't think I'll ever want that. Because time only slows down when you're in pain. And it goes by fast when you're happy. I'd rather be happy than sad. :)

I really just want this to be done with. Can't wait for next month when I go climbing!!! :D

First 3 Mile...

Soooo...my first three mile run/jog/walk. Quite torturous, I must say. Lol. Plus, I was running in the morning this time. I don't know if that has to do with anything. But I had to do it then because I had practice for the musical in the late afternoon. The overall time is 32:13. I stopped once towards the end during the first roundabout. Then, MANY times during the second roundabout. It was kind of ridiculous actually.

My tummy was cramping!! My legs and breathing were perfectly fine, just the friggin' stomach!

Ughh, the ordeals I had to go through running in the morning though. Horrible, horrible obstacles. Like I said before, running through the golf course is pleasant. Once I get into the back road, that's where things start to get ugly. First of all, I passed many houses and most of them smelled like rotten stuff (probably because they had their garbage right in front for pick up). Imagine running, and you're tired, and constantly smelling rotten garbage. And the smell sticks in your throat. Yeah. Not that great. I was gagging.

To make matters worse, a garbage truck went past me. And let me tell you, the garbage truck here is not as smell proof as the ones they have in the States. It smells, well, just like garbage. I could have sworn it smelled kind of like rotten pineapples. Guhh. Thinking about it makes me shudder. Oh, and there's more! After that, a truck passed me with a trail of darkness following it like the cape of some villain. Yes, it definitely needs a smog check. Thanks for making my breathing even harder, and possibly raising my chances of getting cancer! :)

I was sweating like crazy towards the end of the run. Literally, my whole body was all wet. I should have bought more sports bra too. Oh well. I attempted (note this word) to do pull ups after the run. What a failure :S

The homemade pull up bar I had made :)
Why is it a failure, you might ask. Because I didn't even manage one full pull up! I jumped in the beginning, which helped and I was able to go up. But after I lowered myself, I couldn't pull back up. My arms weren't even aching. I simply just couldn't pull up. It just wouldn't happen. I mean, I did half pull ups a couple times. I don't think that counts though. I guess I'll need to do some more push ups as a precursor before this. Heheheh. My scrawny little arms are not strong enough yet. ;p

And I got the musical's revised version of the schedule for practice. I don't think I'll be able to run on the days of the show. And I don't think I should be pushing too much the week before the show either because we're practically running through the whole thing every day. I'll need my energy for that. Not that I'm gonna stop running. Oh nooo. It's just I can't follow the marathon training schedule. :(

It's okay! I'll get stronger without a schedule! :D

Found My Pace

So as the title of this post suggests, I found my running/jogging pace. A comfortable one where I did not stop for a walk the whole trip around my house. I feel pretty good about it. I mean, it's a little slow, but I'll try making it a little faster next time. The time is 14:43.47 minutes.

Plus! I found out earlier today that it's actually not a mile that I'm running, but around 1.5 miles. I'm not weak after all! Curse you, Bangkok weather!!! I think I'll be ready to do a two round trip soon for the 3 mile run. Did I mention before that I found a marathon training schedule? I think I did. But yeah, I'm gonna try to do that.

I partially think that I ran better today because I was actually in a better mood than before. In my last runs it's usually to help ease my stress. So I think going in with a happy mind helps a lot. :) I got to Skype with both of my beloved that I've been missing so much.

Then during the afternoon, after running around doing chores with my mom, I went out to buy a pair of running shorts and a pair of running pants. Sadly, I only have one running shorts that I've been using this whole time. Gross, I know. Hahaha! It's pretty much collecting salt at this point. ;P Both of them are Adidas. The sales at the sports section of the department store wasn't that helpful. Whatever. I got what I needed.

The needed shorts for this horrible scorching weather.

Okay, so it's more like tights than pants.
It fits pretty comfortably.
I did some push ups and sit ups after I ran. I also bought this exercise wheel thing. My camera ran out of battery so I couldn't take a picture of it yet. I'll do that for my next post. But, surprisingly, it works. My arms were all weak afterwards. Lol!

Oh, and Tony said I should be doing pull ups if I'm gonna be doing lead climbing. The problem is I don't have anything I can pull up with here. So tomorrow I'm gonna be constructing some home-made bars/pull up thingy. Tony looked at me all doubtful when we talked about the lead climbing class. I'll show him! ;)

Waiting for the Storm

It's been sooo HOT!! Like 90-100 degrees kind of hot! Nothing much happened since my last post. I took a rest day from running, and I ran yesterday. The timing was a bit better, probably because it rained a little so the weather cooled down a bit. Last time I ran it was almost 16 minutes (around 15:51). Yesterday I pushed myself and stopped only once (to take pics). I got almost 14 minutes at 13:53.

I didn't even realize the flowers were blooming until a couple days ago.
:)

Beautiful running route, eh?
It's only the first part/half of my routine, the other is not as pleasing.

I run right through the golf course, which is right next to my house.
Don't let the pictures deceive you! It's freakishly hot and uncomfortable outside. I just can't stress that enough, hahaha. It's worse for me to run the other half of my route after the golf course portion. The road runs through the residential part of the community and so many cars pass me by. Breathing those carbon monoxide isn't that encouraging, I must say. It really does disturb my running rhythm. So I usually do that portion first so I'll have the golf course as my ending.

The path is so flat, but it's so hard to push myself forward. Maybe it's because I haven't been eating too well. It's getting better though. Still not too much appetite, but I've been able to force myself to eat more, especially because I've been exercising more than usual. Anyway, so after my run from yesterday I actually did some push-ups and sit-ups as well. I swear I have never sweated more in my life! Not even in my P.E. class since high school. I was literally slipping on the yoga mat. Lol!

I did 50 sit-ups, 40 girl push-ups, and 50 leg lifts. I know it's not much, but at least I'm working on making it more. My mom looked at me all surprised when I got back in the room. Sometimes I wish I have an exercising partner or just someone to shout at me. Hahaha! Shouting and moaning by myself doesn't really help much. Plus, people look at me all weird. ;)

I can't wait for next month already! I hate being stuck here with nothing much to do. The practice for the musical starts in four days, and that doesn't seem like it will take too much of my time either. All I've been doing is running, reading, writing, and watching Merlin (TV show, a good one too!). None of my friends are here and there are no outdoor activities I can do. I'm making the most of my day by doing SOMETHING. Jeez, I wonder how I ever lived this life before. It's so boring! And people are just so superficial here, it's ridiculous.

As for the matter of my heart, it's same old same old. If there's anything, I only see every guy as wussies compared to him. They're just sooo.....weak. Ugh, I haven't completely given up, I guess. My undying devotion is getting the better of me. Oh well.

So right now we're all just waiting for the first summer storm to hit. It will be a big one, too. I love, love, LOVE summer storms here. Because it's a REAL storm!! It thunders like crazy, windy as hell, and rains like it's the end of the world. It's beauuutiful. :)

By the way, I found a marathon training schedule online. I think I'm going to try to stick to it, not that I'm aiming for a marathon, but I just want to become a better runner. But dang! It starts the first day with 3 miles! And I'm only running one! I guess it's about pacing yourself and all. I'll probably try doing 2 miles on my next one and try to pace myself, so that's like two laps around my house. We'll see how I feel after the first lap, because I'm usually dying and sweating like crazy. Did I mention it's SUPER hot here?
