Gone and Back Again

So I went back to the States for a month. And now I'm in Thailand again. I've been meaning to post something, but Tony and I rarely went on any adventure the whole of the four weeks that I was there. Literally, I woke up at 6:00am every weekday. Class started at 8:30am. I took two classes so my second class ended at around 5:00pm. I get back home at 6:00pm. It would be 8:00pm or later after walking the dog and making and eating dinner. Homework time after that until we go to bed around 11:00pm.

I had an essay due every week and a test every week. Sundays were homework days. Saturdays were the only free days. And on those days we were really just catching up on sleep and relaxing. Went to the climbing gym probably once a week.

Yeah, it sucked ass.

Although, we did attempt Mt. Baldy one Saturday! :) Well, I attempted Mt. Baldy. Tony could have finished it by himself. Said he ran to the top in 45mins for the 8,000 Meter Challenge. On the other hand, I wasn't fit because I've been slacking in my fitness routine due to flying and school schedule. Plus, it was my first altitude hike. So yes, I was struggling. Only went to the ski huts, which literally was the midpoint of the hike. And that took me two friggin' hours!! I believe the ski huts were at around 8,000ft of elevation. The summit, which we were initially aiming for, is at 10,068ft of elevation.

My heart was beating really fast the first hour of the hike. I believe the start of the trail is somewhere between 5,000ft and 6,000ft of elevation. It felt almost like my heart was gonna explode! My head also felt a little woozy, if you know what I mean. Hahaha! So I was really really slow.... My legs weren't hurting or aching or anything. I just couldn't really catch my breath. Then the second hour I acclimated, but my legs started to ache instead. :S Great!

Gahhh!!! I will get there next time!! Need to go run and push myself some more.

My mom wouldn't let me stay in August, so here I am. In Thailand. With nothing to do. Going to the Maldives in two days, which is nice, I guess. I'll be bringing my book and Tony's gameboy to pass the time when we're not in the water snorkeling. I still feel weird about going to that place. I've always seen it as a honeymoon spot, never a family vacation spot.

I'd rather go to Yosemite, which Tony and I originally planned for August. Oh, well.

I'm gonna try to finish another old cross stitch piece, read lots of books, and get fitter. That's my goal for the remaining two weeks after I get back from the Maldives.

22 more days before I get back home. (I just got here yesterday and I'm already counting down, oh Lord.) And I pray to God(!) I get a car this time for real. I've been patient for far too long.

And seriously, what is up with people here?! It's either I'm too fat or too thin. This time around, I'm too thin. Can't you people just say, "oh, you look good." Thanks! No, I'm not trying to lose weight. It's just the way I am. I'm perfectly happy with the way I am. This one woman even said my boobs seem to have shrunk. I was like, WTF?! My boobs are fine! It was just the shirt that I wore that day was a bit baggy. People and their opinions.

Thanks for trying to look out for me and all. But I can look after myself, thank you! Ever wonder why I don't want to live here?
